What I really love about this up-and-coming series is the humor and passion. Tru is a great, new heroine that EVERYONE will be cheering for. The novel is paranormal, but no vampires or werewolves here. Just super powers and love–and of course, evil–you have to have evil always trying to get rid of the love. You will be captivated by the first page of sparks, go on an exciting ride as Tru attempts to connect other sparks, and then end with her wondering about her “true love.” I realize you may think I am a bit biased given I love Brandi, but I fully recommend this book–you will love it! You will zip through it and be wondering when is book two coming out?

Margo: Welcome, Brandi, to Read These Books and Use Them. Congratulations on your debut novel, The Kindling. What inspired you to write this novel?

Brandi: Twilight! I know what everyone is thinking…TWILIGHT … UGH! But it really did. After reading the saga, I was hooked. I wanted to write something totally epic!

Margo: The Kindling has humor, paranormal elements, and romance all rolled into one. Were you thinking of any certain genre when you wrote the book?

Brandi: I wasn’t thinking about a “genre” – actually, I didn’t even know what that word meant when I started writing. I was given the idea for THE KINDLING one day driving on the highway. I went home and started to write. I never thought I would be an author. I never knew I would love it as much as I do. Life is funny; sometimes, you just have to take action.

Margo: Taking action! I totally agree. Tell us a bit about MuseItUp Publishing! What was it like to get your contract and how has it been to work with them?

Brandi: They are a Canadian publisher and are wonderful! They have authors all over the world. My editors and graphic artist were so nice and easy to work with; I have already requested them for future books with the Muse.

Margo: This blog is all about reading books and using them AND helping women and girls around the world. Your main character is a very strong female who helps people in a rather unusual, but important, way. What are some positive messages and/or lessons that readers can take away from this book?

Brandi: The main message is to: WAIT! All things happen in good time. Even if it’s not your timeline, don’t settle just because “everyone” is settling down and getting married. Ladies want to fall in love; the dream is there from infancy. I believe God has a plan for all of us, and we just need to keep our head up and heart open and maybe you will see your “spark.”
