Welcome to the Finding My Place virtual online party today! I’m so glad you could join in on the fun. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day and week to party with me and find out more about my book, Finding My Place. There’s a lot to do and prizes to win, so let’s get started!
Here is a quick synopsis of my book from the White Mane Kids website: “Thirteen-year-old Anna Green can hardly remember life before the War Between the States touched her hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi. For 47 days in May, June, and July 1863, the Union army bombs Vicksburg day and night, attempting to overtake the city. Anna longs for the days before Yankee bombs screeched above her, before her family was torn apart, and before they moved to a dark, damp cave to protect themselves from falling shells. During one terrible bombing, a tragedy strikes Anna and her siblings and changes their lives forever. Can Anna find the strength to keep her family together in the midst of war?
Finding My Place (historical fiction, middle-grade, 9 to 12 year olds) recounts the destitute living conditions and the horror of a city under siege, the strength of the citizens who would not surrender, and the courage of an intelligent young girl.”
What’s a party without activities and games? So here’s how to participate in the party and enter to win either a free copy of Finding My Place or a personalized journal! (Why a journal as one of the prizes? The main character, Anna, loves to write in her journal, and it is a very important piece in the story, so you can have your very own journal–just like Anna!) Follow the directions below carefully to enter to win the journal and/or the books. Both contests will end Sunday night, October 28 at 11:59 pm.For a chance to win the journal:
1. BUY A BOOK! You can get an autographed copy right from me here: http://margodill.com/blog/buy-finding-my-place $9.95 on my site which includes tax and shipping and handling. If you just want it signed and not to someone, that’s fine, too. For non-autographed copies, you can call White Mane Kids at 1-888-WHT-MANE, or you can search on Amazon under Margo L. Dill.
