Favorite Eric Carle Book Survey
April 5, 2012 in Carle, Eric, Elementary Educators, Picture Book, Preschool to 1st grade teachers
It’s Spring Break for us here, and so to say things are a little out of schedule would be an understatement. So, I thought I would do a little different post here. Please share in the comments or on Twitter or on Facebook–what is your favorite Eric Carle book?
I’ll post my results and a few activities to go with them later this month.
My daughter’s favorite (17-months old) is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, followed by The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
I used to love starting out the 4th grade plant unit with The Tiny Seed. That seed was something else, and it led to many good discussions with my fourth graders. (I LOVE USING BOOKS WITH KIDS, YOU KNOW!)
So what is your favorite Eric Carle book? Try to pick just one-. . .

I agree with your daughter – these are the books I’ll always remember from Carle. Always the ones I went back to as a kid and making sure my son has them, too. The Very Hungry Caterpillar slightly in the lead though.
