Wacky Wednesday: Have Fun with Grammar and Punctuation
December 1, 2010 in Book Club Possibility, Elementary Educators, High School Teachers, Middle School Teachers, Preschool to 1st grade teachers, Wacky Wednesday Tags: Eats Shoots and Leaves, Teaching grammar and punctuation
Although this is not a book for kids, it’s a fun book. And some of the stuff you can share with your students or children from elementary school up to high school (and college, of course). Even just the title is fun: Okay, so is it Eats, Shoots, and Leaves? (Three actions. . .) or is it Eats Shoots and Leaves (those panda bears love shoots). Show your students how important punctuation is with different examples from this book. Make correcting and learning punctuation and grammar FUN, and your kids won’t dread it so much. They may even become better at it.
Here are a couple of places on the web where you can find more examples like Eats, Shoots and Leaves:

Thanks for the recommendation, Margo. I’m going to look at the other two books you mentioned, too.
