Blogging Schedule: Changes, Changes, Changes

I’m currently teaching an online class for WOW! Women On Writing, “Blogging 101 and More,” and one of the things we just got finished talking about was a regular blogging schedule. (BTW, if you are interested in learning more about blogging or getting your blog up to speed, I am offering the class again in October, 5 weeks, $125. Email me at margo (at) wow-womenonwriting.com for details.)

Up to this point, I was blogging five days a week–two or three days on women’s and children’s issues and helping them around the world, and two days on children’s/YA books and how to use them in the classroom or at home. This was going well, and I was starting to find some really great books to share with children and/or adults about the strength of women and children around the world. Then the news came. . .

It is very exciting news! My husband is being transferred to St. Louis, and this is home for me!!! I can’t wait to live back in St. Louis, although it is always sad to leave a place where you’ve made new friends and new connections. However, I am also pregnant (due in December), and my parents live in St. Louis, so the move is a blessing all around. We will also be much closer to my stepson!

We are truly blessed. The big news is he will report for his job at the end of September, so that doesn’t give us much time to get our house ready to sell. My stepson will only be here two more weeks, and I want to do some more fun stuff with him. Last night, I have to say I was starting to panic about everything. When you are pregnant, this is not good!

So, how do you create more time? I wish I knew the answer to that; but in the meantime, while I search for those answers, I decided to change my blogging schedule, ONCE AGAIN, to give me some more time. I think blogging is wonderful and important, so I don’t want to give it up! But I have to be realistic about everything going on. Here’s the new schedule:

  • Monday: Blog about girl’s/women’s issues, books, charities, ways to help, based somewhat on Half the Sky
  • Wednesday: Either a Wacky Wednesday post if I have something Wacky to say or a Wonderful (notice the Ws for Wednesday) Read These Books and Use Them review and 3 activities of a children’s or YA book
  • Un-Forgettable Friday: It’s the same–talking about a great children’s or YA book and giving three ways to use it. This will also be a guest blogger sometimes!

I’ll keep you posted, too, about how I do with the move, the baby, and all such things. It’ll be hard NOT to write about it. Thanks for your support as always, and. . .on Friday, come back for my guest blogger, Irene Roth. She has a very special kids’ book to share!

I enjoy this book. It’s got some good tips when you are going through a stressful time:

    Hi Margo,
Yipee! you can’t see me but I’m jumping up and down with excitement that you and Rick will be moving back to St. Louis.
Your prayers have been answered. And do a search on St. Joseph to help you sell your house.
    Love,
    Donna
